Daniel - Revelation : The Time-Line

The key to understanding The Revelation (not “Revelations”) and the Book of Daniel is to understand the time period spoken of in the various parts of the book. Also, the relationship between the two books can only be seen by understanding the segments of time mentioned. In the Book of Revelation. John was told in Chapter 1, verse 19:
Write the things which thou hast seen, - PAST
and the things which are, - PRESENT
and the things which shall be hereafter; - FUTURE
Over the years many teachers have by-passed Daniel, that "Great Book of Mystery", saying that it is a Sealed book, and will remain so until the end of Time. Even the Disciples did not understand:
Matt. 24:3: And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, (1) when shall these things be? and (2) what shall be the sign of thy coming?, and (3) of the end of the world?..... 6: And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. ....14: And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.......
Jesus very firmly reminded them: Mt:24:25: Behold, I have told you before.
God, in speaking to Daniel, was very specific concerning the Un-sealing of the Book:
Dan:12:4: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
7:.....it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished
8: And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? (Remember the Disciples in Matt 24?)
9: And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
The Time of the End is that time in history when actual events coincide with prophecy and begin to point to the approaching Rapture, and the eventual Second Coming of Jesus.
We are living in The Time of the End!
Rev 10:5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, 6: And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: 7: But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
Matt 24:33:..........when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
Look at the words of Jesus: Matt 24:21: For then shall be great tribulation,.....22: And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23: Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24: For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.....
27: For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be......(THEN)....29: Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: (The “Second Coming of Jesus”) and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Note: Those who believe that the Church must go through the Tribulation, use this next verse as proof) 31: And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, (NOTE: But THEN it says:.....).....from one end of heaven to the other. 32: Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34: Verily I say unto you, This generation ( the one that shall see all these things shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled....
36: But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37: But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
(Gen 6:5…every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.)
(Gen 11:6......and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do)
(Dan:12:4:….many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.)
38: For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39: And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 51:......there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Now, look at the words God gave to Daniel to describe the time segments of His Prophecy:
Speaking of King Nebuchadnezzar: Dan:4:16: Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.....23: And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying,.......let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;.....25: That they shall drive thee from men,......and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men,....32:................and seven times shall pass over thee,.....33: The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws. 34: And at the end of the days (7 years had passed) I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever,
As the clock ticks Midnight for the Rapture, and the start of Tribulation:
Dan:7:25: And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. (Time = 1 year; Times = plural, or 2 years; The dividing of Time = 2 year: Time and Times and the Dividing of Time = 1 year + 2 years + ½ year = 3 1/2 years)
Dan:12:7: And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; (Chap 7:25 = 3 1/2 years) and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.(36 months = 3 years + 6 months = ½ year =3 1/2 years)
Dan:8:17: So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
( In other words: This is a vision of things that will be at the Time of the End)
Dan:8:19: And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be. (I will make you know what will be the end of Tribulation)
Dan:8:23: And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. (Anti-Christ)
25: And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Rev 1:5: And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth.
Note: The Hebrew word for Weeks is Shabua, meaning a group of seven, (as in a 7 day period; a 7 week period; a 7 year period; etc) just as our word Dozen means a group of twelve.
Jer 25:11: And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. ( NOTE: Hebrew words were 10 Shabua and could have meant 10 weeks totaling 70 days, or 10 weeks of years, totaling 70 years.)
WHICH DID HE MEAN?
Dan 9:2: In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. (Israel had been in captivity for 68 years when Daniel read this)
2nd Chron 36:21: To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah,....... to fulfil threescore and ten years. (70 years)
FOLLOW THIS CLOSELY:
Dan:9:24: Seventy weeks (70 x 7 = 490 years) are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city,
to finish the transgression, (Hebrew: Pasha, means Rebellion)
and to make an end of sins, (total and absolute Repentance: Zech 12:10; 13:1 & Rom 11:25-29)
and to make reconciliation (Hebrew: Kaphar means To Cover/Hide) for iniquity,
and to bring in everlasting righteousness, (Rev 11:15; 19:11; 20:10; 21:1; 22:5)
and to seal up the vision and prophecy, (when IT is truly finished)
and to anoint the most Holy (our KING on His throne!).
Rev 4:2-6 John saw Jesus sitting on His throne!
Divisions of the Seventy Weeks:
7 Weeks (49 years) to re-build Jerusalem and the Temple; (Ezra & Nehemiah)
62 Weeks (434 years) from the re-building of the Temple to the death of Jesus;
That is only 69 of the 70 Weeks, and only 483 of the 490 years.
Where did the other Week, or 7 years, go?
When Nebuchadnezzar attacked Israel and destroyed the Temple, the “Time of the Gentiles” began to come into place and the “Dispensation of the Jews” began to decline. When Jesus died and was resurrected, the Dispensation of the Jews ended (The Jewish Dispensation of Grace through Covenant Sacrifice), and the Church Age (The Dispensation of Grace through the sacrifice of The Lamb of God/Jehovah-Jirah) began. (Rev 11:2....it is given to the Gentiles) When the Church is taken away (Raptured), the Jewish Dispensation will continue for a period of time (7 years) in order for them to have another opportunity to accept the Messiah. (Dan 9:24.... to make reconciliation)
The Church did not exist when the Prophecy was given, and the Weeks only apply to Israel.
Dan 9:24.... Seventy weeks are determined upon THY people. (Daniel's people, Israel!)
Remember this?: Rev 11:2: But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. (3 1/2 years) 3: And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days...(1,260 days)
NOTE: Hebrew years were 12 months of 30 days each, or 360 days per year.
3 1/2 years X 360 days per year = 1260 days, or 42 months!
(Rev 13:5: And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.)
1st Half of the Tribulation
Dan:7:25: And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. (Time = 1 year; Times = plural, or 2 years; The dividing of Time = 1/2 year: Time and Times and the Dividing of Time = 3 1/2 years
2nd Half of the Tribulation
Dan:12:7: And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; (Chap 7:25 = 3 1/2 years) and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
"Know ye therefore and understand"
Seventy Weeks (Shabua=Seven) literally means Seventy Sevens
(70 7's = 70 X 7 = 490 years)
Dan:9:25: Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, (49 years), (from the third Decree to rebuild Jerusalem/Nehemiah 2:1-8) and threescore and two weeks: (62 x 7 = 434 years) (from the rebuilding of the Temple until the Blood of Messiah) the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. (49 + 434 = 483 years)
Dan:9:26: And after threescore and two weeks (62 x 7 = 434 years from the rebuilding of the Temple) shall Messiah be cut off, (killed) but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come (Anti-Christ) shall destroy the city and the sanctuary;(the Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD) and the end thereof shall be with a flood, (The broken stones of the Temple were later used to build a causeway into the sea) and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. (Tribulation will come)
SIMPLE MATH!
7 weeks = 49 years to rebuild the Temple; verse 25
62 weeks = 434 years until Messiah is Cut-Off; verse 25-26
1 week = 7 years for the Purification of Israel (Jacob=s Trouble)(Tribulation); verse 24
70 weeks = 490 years from the decree to rebuild, to the end of Jacobs Trouble (Jer. 30:7)
Daniel continued to prepare himself to receive the prophecy...
Dan:6:10: Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
Dan:10:2: In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. 3: I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
2nd Chron. 7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,......
Dan:10:1:.......a thing was revealed unto Daniel, and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: (he looked FAR into the future) and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision. (Dan:9:25: Know therefore and understand......)
The Conspiracy Against Israel
Dan:11:6: And in the end of years (near the end of time) they shall join themselves together; for the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement:...
Dan:11:14: And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision (trying to establish a victory); but they shall fall. (Rev 17:17: For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.)
The Plan To Save Israel - The First 3 1/2 years: The Lesser Tribulation Begins
(Rev 6 - The White Horse Rider (Peace) and he that sat on him had a bow; (no arrows)
Dan:9:27: And he shall confirm the covenant (Renew the Jewish Dispensation of Grace through Covenant Sacrifice) with many for one week: (7 years)..............; (Matt 24:15; 2nd Thess 2:3-4)
Dan:11:24: He shall enter peaceably (Dan 8:28 by peace shall destroy many) even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches (he will seem to share the wealth of their conquests): yea, and he shall forecast his devices (reveal his plans) against the strong holds, even for a time. (A set, predetermined period known only by God)
Dan:11:40: And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
The Great Tribulation
(Revelation, chapters 11 thru 13 - The Second 3 1/2 years)
Dan 9:27:........and in the midst of the week (3 1/2 years) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, (will violate the Covenant, revealing to Israel that he is NOT their Messiah) and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, (end) (Dan 12:7 all these things shall be finished...) and that determined (the plan that God set forth) shall be poured upon the desolate. (Those “left behind”) (Dan 11:45: And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.)
Dan:12:1: And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Gods Plan - The Time-Line
The Book of Daniel was not intended to be sealed forever: Dan:12:4: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. (Matt 24:37: as the days of Noe) Dan:12:7: And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it, shall be for a time, times, and an half; (Chap 7:25 = 3 1/2 years) (Matt. 24:21: For then shall be great tribulation...) and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
1260 Days of Great Tribulation
Dan:12:11: And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
(1290 Days - 30 Days more before the Image (Abomination) is removed)
Dan 12:12: Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
AND THEN!: Matt 25:34: Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Rev:7:14: And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Dan:7:22: Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom!
(Notice that Daniel is speaking in the PAST tense, as though the events had already happened! He was THERE, in the FUTURE, seeing these events, as a Faithful Witness just as John did.)
Matt 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34: Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world!
Revelation 22:20.......Even so,.....come, Lord Jesus!
